DoorDash joins growing list of first-time Super Bowl advertisers

DoorDash, a delivery service that had a busy year in 2020 thanks to COVID-related orders, is among several brands that will make its Super Bowl debut this year. (Look for a detailed round-up of 2021 rookies here on the SpotBlog later this week.) 

The spot will star actor and singer Daveed Diggs along with Sesame Street’s Big Bird, Cookie Monster, Grover and Rosita. The ad will feature the show’s “People in Your Neighborhood” song and will show how DoorDash can be used for more than just restaurant orders — like bird seed and cookies. 

DoorDash announced that it will donate $1 for each order placed on Feb. 7 and 8, up to $1 million, to the Sesame Workshop.
